Cool business

In the 1970s, there were two hing school boys who didin´t like to study. All they wanted to do was listen to music, go out with girls and have a good time. Unusual? No, but their solution to the problem was unusual.
When Ben and Jerry were 18 and they had finished high school, they didn´t want to go to college. But they didn´t want to work in boring jobs either, so they decided to start a business. They looked into different types of businesses. They tought about starting a bagel business but the equipment was very expensive an they didn´t have enough money. They found out an ice cream making course that cost $5.00 each. They took the course, bought some inexpensive equipment and started making ice cream.
Ben and Jerry´s ice cream was very good, and in 1978 they opened Ben and Jerry´s Homemade Ice Cream Parlor in Burlington, Vermont. People went to the ice cream parlor for the delicious ice cream but also for the entertainment. At Ben and Jerry´s could see jugglers and listen to live music. The ice cream had funny names like Chunky Monkey and Totally Nuts. Ben and Jerry began selling ice cream to stores and restaurants in Burlington. Everyone loves it, and soon they began selling ice cream all over the U:S. Today there are Ben and Jerry´s franchises all over the world. More than 20 years later the two boys who hadn´t wanted to go to college are millionaries. But they still sell fabulous ice cream with funny names.
